Supporting Employers Embracing Diversity (SEED)

On October 14th S.U.C.C.E.S.S. announced the launch of a comprehensive human resource virtual toolkit for employers, designed to assist in the integration of culturally-diverse groups into the workforce. S.U.C.C.E.S.S. would like to invite employers to utilize this virtual toolkit ‘Supporting Employers Embracing Diversity’ (SEED) at no cost to them. Please visit www.success.bc.ca/embracingdiversity.
Founded in 1973, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is one of the largest social service providers in British Columbia. Its programs and services serve as a bridge between the immigrant community and the community-at-large, and have evolved into a multi cultural, multi service agency assisting people at all stages of their Canadian experience.
Despite the fact that BC has a large number of foreign trained and educated workers, employers will still continue to be challenged by the critical issue of skills shortages so Supporting Employers Embracing Diversity (SEED) comes in at a very opportune time.
The HR toolkit, ‘Supporting Employers Embracing Diversity’ (SEED) is the outcome of a one-year pilot project which offers support services to employers in activities related to recruitment planning, training and workforce maintenance. Employers will:
• learn effective tools, services and strategies
• be informed how to maximize the benefits of a diverse workforce
• increase awareness of cross-cultural understanding
