Borrow our rod and tackle for free

Want to go fishing, but have no gear? Don’t let that hold you back.
Through its Rod Loan Program, the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC (with assistance from the Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, and Industry Sponsor, Rapala Canada) lends Rapala spinning rods, reels, and tackle boxes – for free – by the day or week at various locations around B.C.
Starting in June, you can borrow all your fishing gear at these Lower Mainland locations:
• The Society’s Trout Hatchery and Visitor Centre in Abbotsford (for their hours of operation, phone 1-604-504-4709, or e-mail visit.fraserfalley@gofishbc.com)
• Rice Lake in North Vancouver’s Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve, from noon to 4 p.m. every other Sunday
• Vancouver’s Sanctuary Pond in Hastings Park, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Wednesday
• Surrey’s Green Timbers Lake (for their schedule, contact the Surrey Nature Centre at 604-502-6065, or e-mail naturecentre@surrey.ca)
• Lower Mainland Provincial Parks (for the schedule, www.gofishbc.com or email visit.fraservalley@
