Restaurant Review: Tacofino Burrito Bar

Special to the Post

After placing our orders at the Tacofino Burrito Bar, our food arrived within two minutes.
The Crispy Chicken Burrito featured chicken karaage, rice, black chili mayo, sriracha, cabbage, cilantro, and guacamole in a fresh soft flour tortilla.
The best part of this burrito was the tender deep fried chicken.
Even with the guacamole and black chili mayo around it, it retained its crispiness. I would have liked if the ratio of chicken to cabbage was slightly higher and to have had more sriracha.
The Fish Taco was composed of tempura ling cod, chipotle mayo, cabbage, and salsa fresca in a lightly toasted flour tortilla.
The fish had a tempura batter that wasn’t overly greasy and that gave way to the moist cod.
The portion of fish in each taco was generous. Other than the fish, the majority of the flavour came from the salsa fresca. It was bright and vibrant from the tomato and fresh lime, with a sharpness from the onion.
Similar to the burrito, the cabbage provided a bit of a crunch.
This taco got me interested in returning to the sit down restaurant to try more of their other options.
The Burrito Bar will definitely be on my radar for late night noms in the future, and the sit down restaurant is now being pushed up on my list of restaurants I want to try.
