Restaurant Review: Dunbar Pizza & Grill

In addition to pizza, Dunbar Pizza & Grill also serves Indian food, including a couple of Indian pizzas. My absolute favorite pizza and keeps me coming back is the Butter Chicken Pizza featuring boneless chicken, yogurt, cream, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Although the chicken is almost always dry, the pizza is overall so moist, and the other flavours of this pizza are so bang on, that I don’t even care.

The secret lies in the butter chicken sauce. It’s tangy yet creamy, with the perfect amount of heat. The chewy crust functions similar to naan, except that it has delightful crispy bits near the end. But the best part is that the butter chicken sauce becomes one with the gooey, melted mozzarella cheese. It works. It is the most addictive delivery-style pizza I’ve ever had.

Another solid offering is the Dunbar Ultimate featuring ham, pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, black olives, tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and smoked bacon. It has the same chewy, crusty crust, but with all the ingredients found on a more traditional take-out pizza. The thickly cut raw onions have more of a bite than they typically do on a pizza. I like this. The other ingredients are what you would expect to find on this kind of pizza. Nothing exciting, but as I said, solid.

So the next time you’re looking for pizza delivery, I strongly suggest that you check out the Butter Chicken Pizza at Dunbar Pizza & Grill. I’ve tried a number of butter chicken pizzas around Vancouver, and so far they’re by far the best that I’ve had. Plus they’re super fast with delivery. I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait longer than 30 minutes from calling to having the pizza in my mouth. Check them out, and let me know what you think.
