Restaurant Review: Lift Bar

Lift Bar is anchored by YVR’s large aquarium which ties perfectly to their coastal menu items. Their menu items are designed to be shared or to order multiple plates. Another great thing I love about the airport is that pricing is very similar to what you would find downtown and never overly priced.

Lift Bar + Grill’s Executive Chef Soojin Park has created a menu that displays our great resources here on the coast while paying homage to many flavours around the world.

Some of the standout items included the crab cakes, spicy tuna roll, spicy squid and the braised short rib. Their crab cakes are full of flavour. The spicy tuna roll was a nice kick of heat and will definitely fill your sushi needs before you fly off. The spicy squid was tender and lightly breaded, one of my favourite items. The braised short rib was tender and filling.

All in all, Lift Bar will be my go-to if I’m heading out on vacation. My parents have instilled a “Be at the airport super early!” mentality, so I will have lots of time to kill and now I know how to fill it (other than perusing the duty free shop!).
