Surrey students help underprivileged students in India

With the help of the Sihki Awareness Foundation (SAF), Surrey students collected 2,165 pounds of supplies to help Indian students who need clothing, clean water and shelter.

The students from Surrey, who are from the Sikh Academy, Guru Angad Dev Elementary, Khalsa School, Gurmat Centre and Gobind Sarvar schools will keep collecting supplies for the next six months.

SAF educates and empowers children to break the cycle of poverty. Since its conception, the program has grown from 20 to more than 350 sponsored students. In the past two years, SAF has built homes and provided meals for many underprivileged families.
