Length at position: EA for a couple months. I’ve been doing my own film work for over four years now under the name First Language Productions doing freelance and also producing, directing, filming and editing my own aggressive inline videos.

Hours worked each week: 40 hours a week

Salary Range: $30,000

Salary Potential: Depends.

Best part of job: I can wear whatever I want to work. Nobody breathes over your shoulder to get things done. You work at the pace you want as long as you know you are able to get all the tasks done. Getting to see what things are coming out before everybody else, and of course playing with lots of expensive equipment.

Length of program: 2 years

Advice: I cannot stress self-motivation enough. Do more than you are assigned. Any opportunity you get to volunteer on a film shoot or editing something, take it. It pays off down the road. The more practice you get at something the more you will perfect your skills as an artist. Most importantly, stay calm, don’t complain, help out your peers and have fun in the process of filmmaking.

In 5 years: I see myself working solely for my own company. I also see myself working alongside all my talented friends in film and skating collaborating to make amazing movies. Also I will have an HVX 200 and a new computer. Yeah.
