EFFECTIVE WORKPLACE COMMUNICATIONS:
(Every Other Week)
A workshop focused on workplace, social & family situations using focused, assertive, effective communication. Examine how conflict affects everyday life while learning communication skills that help. This workshop includes looking at (and dealing) with change, transition, fear, inner & external conflict, minimizing barriers, reframing perceptions, goal setting and understanding workplace culture. This workshop is ideal if you have been unemployed for some time, are making a change, or are experiencing any stress or anxiety (however minimal) relating to your job search including dates, times, content, and location


COMPUTERS:
(Every Other Week)
Learn the basics of Computers to help you at work and home. Interactive lessons show you how to use a Computer, Windows, Internet, Email, plus how to create basic résumés & letters using MSN Word.



  • Learn the basics of Computer Operating Systems, Internet, World Wide Web, Operate a computer, Trades related web research, set up & use email.
  • Learn the basics of MSWord, create, edit & format documents, letters & résumés, manage your files, open & save files, use folders & directories.

JOB SEARCH:
(Once A Month)
A 5 day workshop about Employment Opportunities in the Trades, Apprenticeship, and anything related. Find out about Labour Market Research, Interviewing, Phoning, Resume distribution, and more


CAREER SEARCH:
(Once A Month)
A workshop designed to finding the Trade that is ‘right’ for you, including details about all available Trades, current labour market information and what skills, prerequisites, etc you require to access your chosen Trade.


CAAT EXAM:
(Every Other Week)
The Canadian Adult Achievement Test (CAAT) is designed to measure an adults current level of Math / English / Mechanical Comprehension. CAAT will provide an accurate assessment of your current academic capability relative to the prerequisites you will need to enter any course in a Technical College. For those that need a helping hand we offer math tutoring Mondays and Wednesdays to help boost your score.


RESUME:
(Every Tuesday)
Get a Trades specific, Targeted, One Page, Focused Resume. A Trades resume that will advertise your skills, achievements, education, work experience, and availability as effectively as possible.


OTHER:
(Ongoing / As Needed)
T.R.A.D.E.S. will offer as identified / needed, workshops and seminars to enhance what is already available. The goal at T.R.A.D.E.S. is to assist all clients to access employment either directly or indirectly via training if eligible
