Richard Forget has never wanted to be anything else but a magician.
Despite having a background in advertising, Toronto’s Forget always knew that his true vocation in life was to be standing in front of the glow of a spotlight, entertaining audiences from around the world.
This month he takes his act to Seoul, South Korea to join 10 other top award-winning magicians and illusionists from around the world in the World Magic Show 2007, slated for Dec. 27-31.
The participants will perform their own specialized magic tricks and a variety of entertaining performances.
Among others invited to show off their skill are Mirko Callaci from Argentina, Minemura Kenji from Japan, Ardan James and Max Maven from the United States and Timo Marc from Germany.
Forget has traveled the world performing for audiences. These experiences have helped him develop a very flexible repertoire for a variety of professional situations, from presenting live magic on television in France to family reunions or commercial parties launching a product.
Forget’s Seoul performance will cap a hectic Asian schedule.
In October he performed in Beijing at an international festival of magic.
In November he was in Malaysia at the Genting International Magic Festival.
He has another show in Shenzen China before headlining the Shrine Fantasy tour in Ontario. Then it’s back to Seoul for the World Magic Show.
Forget is a Korean favourite. He received a thunderous applause from the audience at this year’s Busan International Magic Festival.
The show will be held on Dec. 27-31 at Universal Arts Center in Seoul.
