She rocked it Canadian Idol, sang it up with Buddy Holly and now Elena Juatco will be bringing it to the Vancouver Fringe Festival.
The award-winning Vancouver actress will star in the West Coast premiere of Dianne & Me running September 9 – 17th.
This one-woman show, which was the recipient of a first place finish with the Hamilton Fringe New Play Contest and Canadian National Playwriting Competition, is about mothers, daughters, sacrifice, and the beauty of the teenage imagination.
Juatco first stepped into the spotlight after a sixth place finish on Canadian Idol in 2004 and has since gone on to star in numerous productions across Canada.
Her splashy Vancouver Playhouse debut as Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels earned her the 2010 Jessie Award for Best Actress.
She has since gone on to grace the Stanley Theatre stage as Buddy Holly’s wife, Maria Elena, in the Arts Club’s summer smash hit Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, which begins its British Columbia tour later this fall.
