With a Master’s Degree in Economics and hope for a better future, Mr. Harvinder Singh Grewal tied a nuptial knot to a Canadian resident and flew half-way across the world to begin a new life 27 years ago. Struggling to embrace a new culture and a new language, Mr. Grewal worked hard. From working in a fish cannery to a farm, Mr. Grewal always wanted to open his own business. He started working at Kohaly Printing as an employer but in 1995 bought the business. He decided to keep the name of the business but moved to a different location in Surrey. He fondly says that he loves the job of printing and art work. He enjoys watching bhangra and volunteers his time at the Indo-Canadian Culture Association. Even with a busy schedule he finds time to enjoy Gurdas Mann music and summer picnics with his family. “I love living in Canada but in my old age I want to move back to my ancestral village,” says Mr. Grewal.
