Immigration connections in Vancouver

For the third year in a row, Canadian Immigrant is returning to the Vancouver Public Library (350 West Georgia St.) with its free Career, Education and Settlement Fair on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Following successful fairs in Halifax in September and Calgary in October, the Vancouver event has an exciting lineup of speakers, activities and exhibitors — all eager to help newcomers to the Lower Mainland settle in and succeed.

Exhibitors and employers onsite

Presented by Scotiabank and in association with IELTS Canada-British Council, the free fair will once again have employer, education and settlement exhibitors lined up to answer your questions throughout the magnificent promenade as well as the lower level rooms just down the stairs. Several employers will also be onsite hiring, including Gold sponsor City of Vancouver.

Special workshops and clinics

Also downstairs in the library atrium will be our popular resumé clinic and inspirational speakers including Iman Aghay, founder of Success Road Academy, who will share his own immigrant experiences in his motivational keynote How to Succeed in Canada with No Connections, Recognized Credentials or Canadian Experience.
For newcomers who want to improve their English, an English pronunciation class will be held, along with a workshop on taking the IELTS test.
New this year is a small business clinic with entrepreneurial expert Gary Bizzo, health care and engineering careers clinic, a social media workshop, and more.
People who are in Canada temporarily will also be interested in a Citizenship and Immigration Canada session on how to immigrate to Canada permanently via Express Entry. Immigration consultant Neera Agnihotri will also be onsite ready to answer your questions!

Pre-register to guarantee your spot

“The last two years of our Vancouver fair have been a great success, connecting newcomers with service providers and employers face-to-face,” said Sanjay Agnihotri, co-publisher of Canadian Immigrant. “Indeed, one of the most important aspects of the Fair is the opportunity it gives newcomers to make real connections with others. We encourage all immigrants and refugees in Metro Vancouver to come to this free event to network, learn new strategies for success, and leave inspired.”
