To say that the Thais have innate lifestyle is a travel catalog cliché, yet watching a classical dancer perform is to glimpse a certain truth behind the stereotype.

On Jan 25, the University of Victoria (UVic) Thai Students’ Club and the local Thai community will host its first annual Thai Night at the Vertigo club located inside the  Student Union Building.

Supported by the Royal Thai Consulate in Vancouver, the Centre for Asia Pacific Initiatives, local Thai restaurants and businesses, this fundraising event was organized by UVic Thai students themselves to support “poor but deserving students” in Thailand.

The proceeds from this event will be used to purchase school supplies for Khanongpha School in Packchong, Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. 

   Royal Thai Consulate-Vancouver Consul General H.E . Kosit Chatpaiboon will deliver the keynote address while Dr. Andrew Harding, Professor of Law and Chair in Asia-Pacific Legal Relations will give a welcome speech on behalf of the university.  

Your $10 buys you a dinner prepared by local Thai restaurants such as Baan Thai, Siam, Little Thai Place, Sook Jai Thai, My Thai Café, Thai Bistro and the Thai community serving sumptuous buffet style Thai cuisines.
