With the launch of the BC Fashion Week website for Fall/Winter 2006, designers, buyers, media and industry around the globe are invited toparticipate in the upcoming fashion week scheduled in Vancouver from April 4th to April9th, 2006.
The state of the art venue of the Scotiabank Dance Centre in downtown Vancouver is home for thethird season, showcasing Fall/Winter 2006 Canadian collections. “The Faris Studio will providethe canvas for the sets used to showcase the talents of our participating designers,” statesVladimir Markovich, Executive Creative Director. “Further details about the design of the venuewill be announced closer to the delivery dates for BC Fashion Week,” continued Markovich.
Continued support and endorsement for the week has been received from communities, businesses and governments at the municipal, provincial and federal level including Western Economic Diversification and Industry Canada. “This support reaffirms to our designers, sponsors, buyers and key partners that the week is delivering business development support for the industry on the world stage,” states Debra Walker, executive director of BCFW.
“Fashion Week brings new trends and cutting edge creations to the world. It forms the highlight of the season’s fashion calendar in any region, and has been proven effective worldwide foralmost a century now. It provides the vehicle to show the world the amazing talent we have herein British Columbia and Canada, across the industry,” said Walker.
In order to deliver a strong Fashion Week, BCFW gives substantial credit to the international andlocal industry leaders who have participated as partners, some from the very first season.
Included in that roster is the design firm of Graphic Minds, whose design team has been responsible for the site from the beginning.
BCFW showcases some of Canada’s top and emerging designers and brings some of the world’smost influential retailers and media to Vancouver’s shores.
