Search is on for 2008 Indo-Canadian top achievers

It is once again time to recognize the achievements of Indo-Canadians which will be presented during the prestigious 2008 Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards & Gala in Toronto.


The Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) is the premier, privately funded, not-for-profit, business organization representing over 1,000 members from the Canadian business and professional communities.


From a total of 11 Award categories, ICCC is welcoming nominations for 9 categories as set out in the nomination form found on the website www.iccc.org.  The deadline to receive nominations is Feb. 22, 2008.


Members of the Indo-Canadian community are encouraged to send in nominations and forward the form to friends, business contacts and other organizations in an effort to select the very best in the Indo-Canadian community.


Award categories includes Professional Male and Female of the Year, Male and Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Lifetime/Outstanding Achievement, Young Achievers Award, Humanitarian of the Year, Technology Achievement and the coveted Corporate Executive of the Year. Winners will be presented on June 14, 2008 in Toronto.


Meanwhile, the ICCC Vancouver chapter announced that the Executive Council has officially been formed consisting of 12 Directors.  Each Director brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge in specialized areas.  The Executive Council will be hosting monthly events focusing on topics related to business, trade, small and medium enterprise and young professionals.


“This is an exciting time to be in Vancouver,” says Rina Gill. “We’re in the midst of so much flux in our community, that it’s great to have such a strong group of leaders be able to organize and prepare ourselves for the change that’s about to take place.”


For students, young professionals and business people interested in networking in the corporate world, the ICCC is launching the Young Professionals Committee at the monthly ICCC-Vancouver


After-Work Social on Jan. 31 from 6pm-9pm at Ginger 62 on 1219 Granville St, Vancouver.
