Barely six months after her debut single “Insatiable” hit the number-one spot of the national Top 40 Charts, Filipina Canadian Elise Estrada’s single “UnLove You” is already building at the same spot this week.

 
Vancouver pop artist Estrada is among the new young music stars nominated for Canadian Radio Music Awards in 2008 set on March 7 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto, as part of the Rogers MusicStore Canadian Music Week celebrations.

Nominees are drawn from artists who have hit the Canadian charts for the first time, and who have achieved top airplay in different formats based on radio “spins” as recorded by Nielson Broadcast Data Systems in 2007.

The winners are chosen by a group of program directors and on-air personalities who belong to the Canadian Association of Broadcasters.

Of Filipino descent, Estrada competed in the Pinoy Pop Superstar competition in 2006. Born in Marikina City, Philippines, Estrada is a Canadian pop singer from Vancouver.

Elise is also a former beauty queen, holding the title Ms. Vancouver Princess 2004.

She was also first runner-up in the Binibining Pilipinas World of Canada Competition.

After an impressive start to Estrada’s career, the 19-year-old Filipina Canadian singer/songwriter/performer/beauty queen has already achieved incredible results both in Canada and internationally.

“Insatiable,” took Canada by storm and landed as the Number 1 Canadian single on both the MediaBase and BDS TOP 40 Charts for an incredible 4 weeks straight, and shocked the industry by hitting the Number 6 spot amongst all international artists on the TOP 40 Charts as an independent artist, and reached an unfathomable audience number more than twice the population of the Canada, with over 60 million listeners, according to MediaBase.

Estrada was seen and heard in many television and radio appearances on shows like CTV’s eTalk Daily, and her music video in rotation on MuchMusic, MuchVibe, and PunchMuch, and her personal appearances on virtually every Top 40 Major market radio stations across Canada during her coast to coast promotional tour.
