Although as a DJ, Sitaya goes by the name Mathieu Kenvetta. Kenvetta is a combination of three French DJs he says have inspired him – David Guetta, David Vendetta and David Kane.

"Many things inspire me — music, other DJs, and travelling abroad. I want to bring something new and different to the Vancouver nightlife. Travelling has let me experience all different kinds of music presented in new and different ways."

Cultural Background: French/Japanese. "My mother was from France and my father, Japan."

Producing, touring and promoting brand awareness. "The most successful DJs turn themselves into a brand. They know how to market themselves, and that is important."

"Follow your passions. Don’t be afraid to try something different. You don’t regret the things that you do, you regret the things that you don’t do."

"I listen to a lot of older hip hop from the 90s, like Notorious B.I.G. I also like rock as well as 80s and 90s dance remixes. The idea of combining two different genres of music is exciting and different." Mixing genres is something that Mathieu is experimenting with during his shows. Nicholas Sylvest, who goes by the name Nickyno, accompanies Mathieu through certain songs with an electric violin.
