The Richmond Public Library is offering a free seminar to help people make sense of the Chinese language.
“Some people find learning to write Chinese characters difficult, but once they
understand the basic components of the Chinese writing system, they’ll be able to learn the language quickly and understand the culture. In this seminar, Ms. Shou-Fang Hu-Moore will explain the basic components of the Chinese writing system,” said Wendy Jang, coordinator of Chinese community services.
Shou-Fang Hu-Moore has won many literary awards in North America and Taiwan for her Chinese essays, poetry and translations. She is a part-time instructor in the
Chinese Program of Langara College Continuing Studies for the past twenty years.
“Chinese Written Characters Demystified”, the free seminar, will take place on Saturday, July 11 from 2-4 pm at the Richmond Public Library Brighouse (Main) Branch Community Place Room. The address is 7700 Minoru Gate. To register, visit any branch of Richmond Public Library, call 604-231-6413 or register online at www.yourlibrary.ca/events. Program is in English.
