Dean Thullner out Shines Brilliant!

Three years ago I was told about an amazing charity event that combined the best elements of fashion, music and dancing. Several months before this year’s annual event, Creative Director Dean Thullner announced he was parting company with the organization he supported. In an unprecedented show of support his army of 200+ fashion designers, hair stylists, make-up artists, models, actors, dancers and musicians, plus the Commodore Ballroom, remained at his side. In a pre-emptive strike to ensure there would be no confusion with his previous event, “Shine” took place Saturday, September 10th. Proceeds from the event benefited the Canadian Mental Health Association, BC Division (CMHA BC) and the Lions Gate Hospital Hope Centre. The event began with a live auction followed by a fashion show interspersed with dance and music performances. A memorable point was when singers Mary Zilba, Amanda Wood and Warren Dean Flandez sung songs accompanied by Rosemary Siemens and Eli Bennett.
