Rachelle Ann Go and Christian Bautista reunite on Vancouver stage

Fans were shocked when they learned late last year that singing sweethearts Rachelle Ann Go and Christian Bautista have parted ways.

The couple reportedly tried to fix their relationship but there were just things that were deemed irresolvable, thus leading to their decision to finally call it quits.

Since then, Go and Bautista have stayed good friends but their fans remain hopeful that the former young couple will patch-up their differences and reunite.

The yearning may come true… possibly in Vancouver where Go and Bautista will be reunited for their first  concert abroad — away from media intrigues — since they broke up a few months ago.

On March 1 at the Centre for Performing Arts in Vancouver,  Bautista and Go will be back together with Philippine pop diva Sarah Geronimo and young balladeer Mark Bautista for , “Night Of The Champions2.”

Go’s fame took off in March, 2005 when she was announced as the grand champion of the popular talent search show on television, Search for a Star with her rendition of Mariah Carey’s “Through the Rain.”

Three months later, Go released her self-titled debut album with the singles “Love Of My Life” and a remake of “Don’t Cry Out Loud.” It also includes her own cover version of Selena’s “Dreaming of You.” It wasn’t long before she joined the first Night Of The Champions U.S. Tour opposite Geronimo and Erik Santos.

That was also the time when she released a duet with Bautista entitled, “You And Me (We Wanted It All)” as the couple’s relationship began to blossom.

Last year, Bautista,  known as Asia’s pop idol, was back at the top of sales charts after the release of his third international album, Just a Love Song…Christian Bautista Live!

This newest top-selling album in The Philippines drips with 19 tracks of classic love song covers, including its carrier track “Trying to Get the Feeling Again,” popularized by music composer/singer Barry Manilow.

Bautista, prior to his unprecedented stardom in neighboring countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, got his first taste of being on  top with his self-titled debut album released by Warner Music Philippines in 2004.

The album’s record-breaking sales earned Bautista a triple platinum record award in The Philippines, and a double platinum award in Indonesia.

His sophomore studio album, titled Completely, did not fall short. Bestowed with a gold record award on its first day of release in The Philippines, Bautista’s second major recording effort, which includes his own penned songs, hit the platinum mark in The Philippines, as in Indonesia.

Concert producer Nellie Vandt told the Asian Pacific Post that this “much-awaited show” will provide a total family entertainment package for Filipino Canadians living in and around Metro Vancouver. “Filipino-Canadians are longing for this kind of top quality shows,” Vandt said.

The Night of Champions2 will be at the Centre for Performing Arts on 777 Homer St., on March 1 presented by Adanac/Phil Promotions and Star 7 Media Promotions in cooperation with Lux Karaoke. Call 604.771.5370.
