Sketch comedy troupe drips with sauciness

Something this rich just can't be good for you.
Yet the calls for encores don't stop.
Three years after their first performance, Vancouver's sketch comedy troupe has responded to calls for more with fresh material and plenty of laughs in their latest offering: The Fellowship of the Butter Chicken!
Bollywood Shenanigans and South Asian Arts have teamed up again for the latest live stage production.
Bollywood Shenanigans, the production company behind the Butter Chicken crew, was created by Munish Sharma and Leena Manro in order to raise social consciousness through comedy, satire, bollywood song and dance.
The company is comprised of a group of actors, dancers and writers who have appeared in film, television, commercials and other stage shows.
For the latest in the Butter Chicken franchise, stage actors Kulveer Taggar, Aga Postawska, Munish Sharma, Leena Manro, Sandhya Sharma, and Kallol Mitra will be casting their discerning social commentary on topics of race, sex, diaspora, parental expectations, and village life - nothing is off limits.
I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter Chicken!: The Fellowship of the Butter Chicken! runs for four days for a total of six shows.
The series runs from May 9 to 12, with late night shows on May 11 and 12.
Tickets are $20 in advance (plus service charges) and can be purchased at Main Video (6621 Main Street in Vancouver), Kamal’s Video Palace (8268 Scott Road in Surrey), or online at www.eventbrite.ca.
