Background:
Shortly after Chef Chen landed in Vancouver in 1986, he began sizzling in a well-known Chinese restaurant, one of the few that were packed with immigrants from Hong Kong seeking nostalgic flavours. Chef Chen mastered the cooking technique of Northern Chinese cuisine, working as an apprentice and later as the Creative Chef of a major Beijing restaurant. He then worked for different high caliber Cantonese restaurants in Hong Kong and became one of only a handful of chefs who perfected both Northern and Southern Chinese culinary arts.

Philosophy:
Authenticity is what Executive Chef Gordon Chen embraces and respects. He is passionate about using as much local produce and his creative mind to develop new recipes which takes regional Chinese cuisine to a higher level.  He turns out intriguing seasonal temptations and signature dishes.
 
Signature Dish:
Chef Chen’s award winning dessert “Golden Pumpkin with walnut and honey” exemplifies his culinary skill using fresh produce and unique ingredients.
