Restaurant Review: Frying Pan food truck

The must-have item is the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It looks like what you would find at the Down Low Chicken Shack, but they are not the same: one is Nashville hot chicken and the other is Korean fusion. The Frying Pan version had a large chicken breast that was super moist and juicy. The crunchy batter didn’t fall off the meat. It wasn't as spicy but was more tangy and savoury. Nicely toasted, the bun held everything together. The Chicken Cheese had ample melted cheese. Just like the spicy sandwich, the crunchy pickles added a nice texture and tang.

The second best item was the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, which came with rice and egg. This bowl was carefully executed. The fried chicken was thick, moist and crispy on the outside. However, without the benefit of the bun and sauce, the chicken was rather plain. The caramelized onions added a nice sweetness. The Bulgogi Fries were good. The starch-coated fries were golden brown and uniformly crispy. It had ample tender, well-seasoned beef on top. This was a meal in itself.

All the food was well-executed. I wouldn't hesitate to eat it all again.

The Good:

• Well-executed eats

• Friendly people

• Food is filling

The Bad:

• I personally could do spicier, but I guess one could ask for it specifically
